Recipe Ingredients for Easy Chili

1/2 cup onion
1 lb extra lean ground beef
30 oz diced peeled tomato (canned)
30 oz canned red kidney beans
2 tsp chili powder
3 cups water

Recipe Directions for Easy Chili

  1. In large saucepan, combine onions and beef (or turkey) over medium heat.

  2. Brown beef, then drain excess fat. Add remaining ingredients to saucepan.

  3. Cook until mixture boils, stirring frequently.

  4. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook an additional 10 minutes.

  5. If making in advance, heat 1 cup of the chili mixture in the microwave before packing in thermos.
