A tasty meat sauce, great served with whole wheat spaghetti.

Recipe Ingredients for Easy Bolognese

2 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion
1 medium carrot
1 zucchini
8 cloves garlic
29 ounces diced tomatoes
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup red wine
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup tomato paste
5 grams fresh basil

Recipe Directions for Easy Bolognese

  1. Dice the onion, and sautée in the olive oil in a medium stock pot. Grate the carrot and zucchini; add to the onion, and sautée over medium/low heat until veggies are soft.

  2. Add the canned diced tomatoes, wine (any red wine will work), and chicken broth to the sautéed vegetables. Stir in the tomato paste. If the sauce's consistency is too thick for your liking, add water. Let simmer for 30 minutes to an hour, chopping and adding the basil leaves a few minutes before serving.
