Recipe Ingredients for Easy Baked Apples

2 apples, small
2 tbsp. pecans, crushed
2 tbsp. walnuts, crushed
2 tbsp. margarine
2 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 Ginger to taste
1 Cinnamon to taste
1 Nutmeg to taste
2 tbsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. margarine
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. honey
1/2 tbsp. brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Easy Baked Apples

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Core and wash apples. Make a small slit in the skin to keep them from bursting.

  3. Mix pecans, walnuts, margarine, honey, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg into a paste. Stuff into cored apples. Set into a small oven-safe pan.

  4. Mix together vanilla extract, margarine, lemon juice, honey and brown sugar. Pour over and around apples in pan.

  5. Place in oven, covered with either the cover of the pan or aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.

  6. Remove foil and bake another 30 minutes.

  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired, and/or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  8. Serve.
