Dutch Apple Pie Recipe

Delicious, though not particularly healthy dessert

Recipe Ingredients for Dutch Apple Pie

1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 c shortening, chilled
1 1/2 tbsp butter, chilled
6 c apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
3/4 c sugar
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
3 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Dutch Apple Pie

  1. mix 1.5 c flour, salt, shortening and 1.5 tbsp butter to form pie crust

  2. add water as needed

  3. roll out crust and place in bottom of pie pan

  4. have your husband peel and cut the apples

  5. combine aples, lemon juice, sugar, 2 tbsp flour cinnamon and nutmeg

  6. place apple combination in pie pan

  7. mix 1/2 c flour, brown sugar and 3 tbsp butter

  8. place crumbly topling on top of pie (double it for better, though even less healthful results)

  9. cover eges of crust with foil and bake at 375 for 30 minutes

  10. remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes

  11. test apples with a fork and if they are still not tender (which they won't be) replace foil and continue baking until they are tender
