Recipe Ingredients for Drop Biscuits

2 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
4 tsp Sugars, Granulated
3 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
1/2 cup Shortening, Household, Lard And Vegetable Oil
1 medium Egg, Whole
3/4 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat

Recipe Directions for Drop Biscuits

Sift together dry ingredients; cut shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine egg and milk add to flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a lightly breased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Yield: 1 1/2 dozen.
