Recipe Ingredients for Dried Fruit and Barley Soup

400 grams mixed dried fruit
1/2 cup raisins
8 cups water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
3/4 cup pearl barley

Recipe Directions for Dried Fruit and Barley Soup

  1. Place water in a sauce pan and add all ingredients. Simmer over low heat for about 2 hours or until barley has increased in size and softened

  2. Serve hot or cold for a soup or desert

  3. Can also garnish with a slice of fresh Orange, cut and placed over the edge.
