it wouldn't analyze the 1 cup canned chickpeas in the recipe so when you mix them in it adds: 71 calories, 13 grams of carbs, 3 grams of protein, .7 grams of fat, 170 grams of sodium (rinse your beans to reduce the sodium!) and 2.6 grams of fiber. This is great on a sandwich and you can add whatever spices you like, I've seen it made with curry powder too. You can make it with all mayonnaise and omit the mustard if you prefer too (use 2 tablespoons of mayo then)

Recipe Ingredients for Dressing for "Chick"pea Salad

1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 2/3 tablespoons light mayonnaise
1 teaspoon mustard
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Recipe Directions for Dressing for "Chick"pea Salad

  1. In a medium sized bowl, roughly mash chickpeas. Stir in diced celery, mayonnaise, mustard and seasonings. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Spread the chickpea csalad on a slice of bread and top with lettuce and the other slice of bread.
