We used Classico "Fire-Roasted Tomato & Garlic" marinara sauce. Low to moderate prep time and super tasty results!

Recipe Ingredients for Dressed Up Classico

2 yellow peppers
1 green bell pepper
5 cloves of garlic
7 large white mushrooms
1 lb ground turkey
2 lbs Marinara Sauce
1/2 large red onion
1/2 lb penne pasta
2 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons Cheese

Recipe Directions for Dressed Up Classico

  1. Cut up the vegetables (all peppers, onion, garlic), setting aside 2 cloves worth chopped garlic in a separate pile.

  2. Boil a sufficient amount of water in a pasta pot after adding a shake of salt and a few dabs of olive oil.

  3. In a medium skillet, add olive oil and vegetables, minus the 2 cloves of garlic. Begin sauteeing vegetables over medium heat.

  4. In a large skillet, add olive oil, turkey meat, and remaining garlic. Break up turkey meat and brown over high heat.

  5. Disturb the meat constantly while it is browning while intermittently tossing the vegetables in their skillet.

  6. When the pasta water boils, add pasta and start the timer counting down from 11 minutes.

  7. When meat is browned completely, add 1 jar marinara sauce, vegetables from the medium skillet, and 2 teaspoons of sugar. Mix well.

  8. Simmer sauce, stirring frequently, until pasta is cooked.

  9. Top pasta with sauce and sprinkle grated romano over final dish.

  10. Eat and enjoy!
