This recipe makes great lasagna without having to cook the noodles first, and it takes 10 minutes in the microwave plus a little finishing time in the oven. I use Dreamfields pasta because it has a lower glycemic index than any other kind of pasta, and reduced carbohydrate absorption.

Recipe Ingredients for Dreamfields Lasagna, Microwave Recipe

5 ounce Dreamfields Lasagna
15 oz Lean Turkey Italian Sausage (Honeysuckle) 2.5 oz
3.5 cup Pasta Roasted Garlic and Herb Italian Sauce
2 cup Organic Lowfat Cottage Cheese
8 tbsp Parmesan, Shredded Cheese
1 cup Reduced Fat Mozzarella Shredded Cheese
4 slice Reduced Fat Deli Style Sliced Provolone Cheese

Recipe Directions for Dreamfields Lasagna, Microwave Recipe

  1. Brown sausage well in large skillet. Pour off any fat. Stir in the Prego sauce and 3-4 tablespoons snipped fresh herbs, such as basil and oregano. Simmer 10 minutes.

  2. Spread 1 cup of sauce in the bottom of a 8x12 DEEP microwave-safe baking dish. Lay 3 lasagna noodles evenly over top.

  3. Spoon half the cottage cheese over noodles, and top with half the remaining sauce.

  4. Sprinkle with half the parmesan cheese and half the mozzarella. Then, repeat layers.

  5. Cover tightly with pleated plastic wrap such as Press'N Seal, so seal tightly. Cook 5 minutes on high in the microwave.

  6. Let rest 1 minute, then cook 4 minutes more on high. Remove from microwave and remove plastic wrap.

  7. Cut the slices of provolone sheese in half, and arrange evenly over top of lasagna. Place uncovered in 375 oven for 8-10 minutes to brown and melt the provolone cheese.

  8. Allow to rest 10 minutes before slicing.
