Traditional Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie- Can also use cooked, mashed butternut squash in place of pumpkin

Recipe Ingredients for Double Recipe Pumpkin Pie

2 1/2 cup, mashed Pumpkin
1 1/2 cups half and half
2 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 tsp Ginger, Ground
1/2 tsp Nutmeg, Ground
1 cup Sugars, Granulated
4 large Egg, Whole
1 3/5 pie crust

Recipe Directions for Double Recipe Pumpkin Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 375

  2. Prepare crust if not store bought; place into 9 inch pie pan

  3. For Filling, combine all other ingredients and stir until well combined

  4. Pour into two pie crusts so that each has an even amount

  5. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes.

  6. If you would like to prevent over browning of the crust, make a foil tent around edge of pie and remove it after first 25 minutes.
