1/2 t expresso powder (optional) Nuts can be left out if desired.

Recipe Ingredients for Double Chocolate Brownies

3/4 c flour
1/4 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1/3 c butter
3/4 c sugar
2 T water
12 oz chocolate chips, divided
1 t vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Recipe Directions for Double Chocolate Brownies

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda & salt in a small bowl; set aside. Combine butter, sugar & water in a small saucepan; bring just to a boil. Remove from heat, add 6 oz chocolate chips & vanilla; stir until chips melt & mixture is smooth. Combine mixture in large bowl with eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture, stir in remaining chips & nuts. Spread into greased 9" square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely & cut into 2 1/2" squares.
