Recipe Ingredients for dosa

1 cup rice
1/3 cup black beans, mature seeds
1 salt to taste
20 tsp oil

Recipe Directions for dosa

  1. soak rice and black beans in separate containers, for 4 hours.

  2. rinse well, drain water.

  3. grind the beans to a paste using water as required.

  4. when the bean paste becomes white and fluffy, add the rice and grind fine.

  5. add salt.

  6. leave aside for a couple of hours to ferment.

  7. heat a skillet.

  8. laddle out about an ounce of batter and spread it around in a circle... pour half a spoon of oil around the outer edges of the dosa.

  9. fry for a minute.

  10. flip the dosa over, pour another half tsp of oil around the edges, fry for another minute till dosa turns golden brown.

  11. remove and serve hot with coconut/onion/green chutney and sambar.
