This asparagus soup tastes even better with leftover dressed salad greens

Recipe Ingredients for Donna's asparagus soup with leftover salad greens

1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 cup asparagus
2 cups chicken stock
2 tbsp parmesan cheese
2 tbsp half and half
1 cup lettuce

Recipe Directions for Donna's asparagus soup with leftover salad greens

Saute onions, garlic and red pepper flakes in 1 tsp olive oil. When onions are soft, add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Add salt and asparagus. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Next, get out the blender and root around the fridge for anything else to throw in. Say, some almost down to the rind parmesan cheese and leftover salad (note, olive oil in salad included in olive oil quantity in recipe). Add half and half and lots of black pepper. Blend until a think, dreamy green color is achieved Enjoy!
