Granola-like breakfast cereal or topping for yogurt, warmed fruits, etc. The recipe was modified from Dr. Sevard's High Fiber Granola which was pretty good, but very high in fat and calories. I've modified the recipe reducing the calories and fat by 35% but only reducing the fiber by a few grams. The resulting cereal is easily worked into a Weight Watcher program.

Recipe Ingredients for Doctor T's Four Point Granola

6 oz raw oats
1/2 oz flax seeds
1 oz pumpkin seeds
1 1/2 oz sunflower seeds
1 1/2 oz walnuts
1/8 cups canola oil
1/4 cup reduced fat peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1 T cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Doctor T's Four Point Granola

  1. Preheat oven to 325

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl.

  3. Combine wet ingredients separately and heat in microwave oven for 2 minutes at 50% power to soften.

  4. Fold warmed wet ingredients together with dry.

  5. Spread onto flat baking sheet.

  6. Bake at 325 for 20-30 minutes, stirring once or twice.

  7. Remove when "toasted" to a nice light brown color.

  8. Cool well before placing into freezer bags and storing in freezer.

  9. Dried fruit if desired to baked mixture

  10. Makes aprox 11 2 oz. servings (aprox. 1/2 cup measured)

  11. Weight Watchers = 4 points per servings
