8 cups of sweet potatoes in slices
2 cups sugar
1 cups flour
1/4 cup vanilla extract
1/4 cup cinnamon
1/4 cup nutmeg
1/4 cup ginger
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup water

Recipe Directions for Divaangelic2's Dangerous Sweet Potatoes

  1. Peel and slice sweet potatoes into quarter inch thick slices. Try and keep them uniform to help them cook quickly and evenly.

  2. Spray cast iron skillet with Pam and add a layer of sweet potatoes.

  3. Sprinkle with seasonings, sugar and flour and add vanilla extract and butter to the layer.

  4. Repeat until you have used all the potatoes, seasoning and butter.

  5. Add a half cup of water to the skillet and cover to help steam cook the potatoes.

  6. Stir over medium heat, trying not to allow the heat to escape too much and allowing the mixture to for a gooey syrup. Its ok if they begin to stick a little - its more about the texture of the potato.
