Recipe Ingredients for Dilly Casserole Bread

3 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
3 tsp minced onions
2 tsp dill seed
1 1/4 tsp salt
14 tsp baking soda
1 package yeast
1 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp butter
1 egg

Recipe Directions for Dilly Casserole Bread

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, onion, dill seed, salt, soda and dry yeast.

  2. In saucepan, heat cottage cheese, water and butter until very warm. Add warm liquid and egg to flour mix.

  3. Blend at low speed until moistened, beat 3 minutes at medium speed. By hand, stir in

  4. Cover, let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size approx. 45-60 minutes.

  5. Stir dough down. Turn into well greased 1 quart casserole.

  6. Cover. Let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size 30-45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Remove from casserole, brush warm loaf with butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
