1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup SPLENDA No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups low-fat buttermilk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce, rounded
1/2 cup egg substitute
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup black coffee, hot strong
1/3 cup Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
2 tsp light corn syrup
3 tbsp 2% low-fat milk
2 tsp 2% low-fat milk
1.32 ounces unsweetened chocolate
4 tsp buttery spread
1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Died and Went to Heaven Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 10 cup bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.

  2. Blend flour, SPLENDAŽ Granulated Sweetener, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt in large mixing bowl.

  3. Combine buttermilk, oil, applesauce, eggs, vanilla extract, and coffee in a small bowl.

  4. Add flour to mixture, using an electric mixer on medium speed, mix until Smooth (about 2 minutes).

  5. Pour batter into cake pan or bundt pan.

  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until an inserted toothpick in center of cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes.

  7. FROSTING: Cook SPLENDA, corn syrup, milk, and chocolate in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 232 degrees F, 6 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter; do not stir. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 1 hour.

  8. Transfer mixture to a medium mixing bowl; add vanilla and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until frosting is of spreading consistency, 5 minutes. Spread quickly onto cupcakes using a spoon.
