A serving is 1/2 cup. The recipe makes about 30 servings -- make it once/month and store in an airtight container!

Recipe Ingredients for Diana's Granola

10 cup dry Old Fashioned Quaker Oats
8 tbsp Wheat Germ
8 oz Raw Almonds
16 tbsp Coconut Unsweetened
1 cup Sesame Seeds
1/2 cup Sunflower Seeds
8 tbsp Flaxseed Meal
2 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 tsp Nutmeg, Ground
1/2 tsp Sea Salt
1/2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.33 cup, unpacked Sugars, Brown
8 tbsp Organics Wildflower Honey

Recipe Directions for Diana's Granola

  1. This recipe makes 30-32 1/2 c servings.

  2. Heat oven to 300.

  3. In a very large bowl, mix together the oats, wheat germ, almonds, coconut, seeds, ground flax, and the spices.

  4. Boil the 1/2 cup of water.

  5. Dissolve salt and brown sugar in the hot water.

  6. Add vanilla & honey and stir til the honey is melted and it is all one consistency.

  7. Add the oil and stir.

  8. Stir liquid into the oats mixture and toss until coated evenly.

  9. Spread in shallow pans and toast at 300 deg for 15 minutes. Stir and toast again for another 15. (I find it easiest to simply dump the granola into a big bowl and then put it back in the pan -- far less spillage!)

  10. If you like it crispier, you can go for one or two more 15 min sessions.

  11. Cool thoroughly then store in airtight container(s).

  12. If you want to add dried fruit, it is better done on the day you are eating it. Otherwise, the dry granola absorbs moisture from the dried fruit and the fruit becomes hard rocks!
