Recipe Ingredients for Dhal ( red and arad lentil combo)

180 grams Dhal
160 grams Lentils (Red)
1 large Onions
3 cloves, raw Garlic
1 tbsp Olive Oil, Extra Virgin
2 tsp Cumin Seed
10 g Coriander Powder
1 tsp Turmeric, Ground
2 tsp Mustard Seed, Yellow
200 grams Diced Tomatoes
1 serving Ground Cumin Seed

Recipe Directions for Dhal ( red and arad lentil combo)

  1. Saute garlic, onion, mustard seeds and ginger ( grated)

  2. add lentils and a small amount of water, bring to boil and then simmer, adding small quantities of water as required to keep dhal from sticking.

  3. In a dry frying pan heat the spices and add to lentils after about 20 mins along with canned tomatoes, and continue to simmer for another 10 mins

  4. serve with rice, quinoa or sweet potato mash
