Awesome for filling you up. 12.2g fiber!! 11.1g protein!!! Serving size is about 7.5 ounces

Recipe Ingredients for Dhal

1 cup red lentils
1 1/2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1/2 medium onion
1 tbs minced garlic
2 tsp curry powder
3 cups water
3 tbs kosher salt

Recipe Directions for Dhal

  1. wash lentils thoroughly, discarding those that float.

  2. drain well.

  3. heat oil & fry onion and garlic until onion is golden.

  4. add curry & stir well.

  5. add drained lentils & fry 1-2 minutes.

  6. add water, lower heat to med-low, cover and cook for 15 minutes.

  7. add salt, mix thoroughly, continue cooking until lentils are soft and consitency is close to that of porridge.

  8. serve over rice as a main dish of by itself as a side.
