Recipe Ingredients for Devilled Meatballs (Destitute Gourmet)

750 g beef mince
1 egg
50 g breadcrumbs
1/4 cup skim milk
1 tsp salt
2 tsp mixed herbs
2 tbsp oil
1/2 onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup apple, grated
125 g chutney
1 1/2 cups water, hot
2 stock cubes, beef
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornflour
3 tbsp water

Recipe Directions for Devilled Meatballs (Destitute Gourmet)

  1. Combine mince, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, salt and herbs. Form into bite sized balls.

  2. Heat oil in large pan and fry until lightly browned. Remove from pan.

  3. Add onion and fry gently until soft. Add apple, chutney, hot water and stock cubes, brown sugar and soy sauce.

  4. Combine cornflour and water, add to sauce to thicken.

  5. Return meatballs to pan and simmer for 15min.
