Recipe Ingredients for Delicious Everyday Dal

2 cups red lentils
10 cups water
28 oz. canned tomatoes
2 medium tomatoes
2 large onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic
1/4 cup fresh ginger, chopped
2 tsp. turmeric
2 tsp. whole cumin seeds
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
1 tsp. salt

Recipe Directions for Delicious Everyday Dal

  1. Bring all ingredients except cilantro to a boil on high heat. Reduce to low, and cook until Dal is tender, about 20-30 minutes. Sprinkle cilantro on top. Serve with brown rice, and some veggies.

  2. Today I've doubled the recipe (this is the doubled amount) and put it in the crockpot for when I get home starving later tonight.
