Recipe Ingredients for Deep dish pizza

1 1/4 cups warm water
19 g. olive oil
573 g. bread flour, 4 cups
10 g. dry yeast, 2 1/4 tsp.
14 g. sugar, 2 1/2 tsp.
7 g. salt, 1 tsp.
13 g. olive oil, 1 tbsp.
138 g. chopped onions, 1 cup
806 g. canned tomatoes, 2 15 ounce cans
227 g. canned tomato sauce, 8 ounce can
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
3/5 g bay leaf
1/2 tsp dried oregano
287 g. lean hot Italian sausage, 1 lb. before cooking and draining
429 g. Kraft 2% mozzarella, 1 lb. shredded
122 g. green bell pepper, 1 small
255 g. mushrooms

Recipe Directions for Deep dish pizza

  1. Dough: Process water, 2 T olive oil, flour, yeast, 2 1/2 t sugar, and 1 t salt on dough cycle in bread machine.

  2. Sauce: Saute onion in 1 1/2 T olive oil. Add drained, pureed tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic salt, pepper, 1/2 t salt, 1/2 t sugar, bay leaf, and oregano. Simmer uncovered 1 hour. Remove bay leaf.

  3. Sausage: Cook well, crumble, and drain of all excess fat.

  4. Assembly: Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Divide dough into 2 halves; roll out slightly larger than pan on floured board. Place bottom crust in pan. Sprinkle half of cheese and all the sausage. Place second crust; pinch edges together with bottom crust and pack inside pan. Spread sauce, remaining mozzarella, and green pepper (or other toppings).

  5. (Optional: sprinkle lightly with grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.)

  6. Bake at 500° for 25??30 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
