Recipe Ingredients for Deb's Banana Bread

1/2 c applesauce
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
6 T egg whites
4 t egg whites
1 t vanilla
3 mashed bananas
1/2 c wheat bran
1/4 c flax
1 c whole wheat flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Deb's Banana Bread

  1. mix applesauce & sugar, add egg whites, vanilla & bananas.

  2. in a med bowl, combine wheat bran, GROUND

  3. FLAX, whole wheat flour, baking soda & baking powder

  4. add dry mixture to the wet mixture, stir only to moisten.

  5. mix in chocolate chips.

  6. bake in a 9 X 5 X 3 inch loaf pan in a 350 degree oven for about an hour (until inserted toothpick comes out clean) **I cover with foil for the last 30 minutes of baking to avoid over browning edges with a soggy middle.

  7. Let stand ten minutes in pan, then remove & cool on wire rack.
