Recipe Ingredients for Debbie's Cabbage Rolls

3 lbs lean ground beef
1 large onion
1 cup rice
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp red chili flakes
1 head cabbage
96 oz Tomato Juice Canned, Without Salt Added
14 oz can Hunt's Tomato Sauce No Salt Added
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp chili sauce

Recipe Directions for Debbie's Cabbage Rolls

  1. Boil cabbage and separate leaves. In a saucepan combine tomato juice, sauce, 1 tbsp each oregano, basil and chili sauce. Simmer.

  2. Combine ground beef, onion, rice, 1 tbsp each oregano, basil, and chili flakes. Fill each cabbage leaf with 1/4 cup meat mixture.

  3. Layer in a roasting pan covering each layer with the sauce. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Reduce oven to 250 degrees and cook for another hour.
