Recipe Ingredients for Dean's Southern Biscuit Recipe

2 cups Flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons shortening
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar

Recipe Directions for Dean's Southern Biscuit Recipe

  1. Use pastry blender to combine butter, flour, cream of tartar, shortening, sugar and butter.

  2. Add buttermilk to center and mix until moist.

  3. Roll the dough over itself 5 or 6 times

  4. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut straight down in 3" diameter and 3/4" thick blanks.
