Recipe Ingredients for Date Sweets

60 g butter
350 g pitted dates, chopped
60 g graham cracker, crushed
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp fennel seeds, ground
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
60 g almonds, sliced

Recipe Directions for Date Sweets

  1. Melt butter over medium heat in heavy frying pan.

  2. Mash in dates with a wooden spoon. Add a little hot water to soften hard dates.

  3. While mashing, gradually sprinkle in crushed cookie and spices. (total time: 7-10 min)

  4. Spread mixture on a flat tray or piece of wax paper 1/2 inch thick.

  5. Press nuts well onto surface.

  6. Allow to cool.

  7. Cut into squares when cool and serve.
