Recipe Ingredients for Date and Apple Fingers

250 grams Dates, Domestic, Natural And Dry
1/2 cup Dried Apples
0.33 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 tbsp Lemon Juice, Canned Or Bottled
1 tbsp Honey Squeezable
0.25 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 cup Flour, All Purpose
1.5 cup Rolled Oats
0.5 cup, packed Sugars, Brown
125 grams Butter
0.13 cup Pepitas
0.5 tbsp Sesame Seeds

Recipe Directions for Date and Apple Fingers

  1. Preheat oven to 180. Base line a 20 cm square cake tin with baking paper

  2. Place dates, apple and water in a small pan. Cover and bring to the boil over a medium low heat, simmer until dates are soft about 10 min. Cool. Stir in lemon juice, honey and cinnamon.

  3. Place flour, rolled oats and sugar in mixing bowl. Add butter and rub mixture with finger tips until course crumbs form

  4. Press half into the bottom of prepare tin. Spread date mixture over. Cover evenly with remaining flour mixture. Sprinkle with pepitas and sesame seeds

  5. Bake for 35min or until cooked. Place on a wire cooling rack and cool in tin. Cut into 12 fingers and serve
