Mackerel soup I made, 1-23-2007. Serving size is 240g (1 cup).

Recipe Ingredients for Danny's Mackerel Soup

1 can (15oz) canned mackerel
8 cups water
80 g "Better than Bouillon" chicken stock base
300 g leeks
300 g carrots
300 g onions
3 T olive oil
20 oz potatoes
15 oz napa cabbage
6 cups collard greens
6 oz chinese bean cellophane noodles
1 tsp Accent (MSG)
2 T garlic powder
1 T black pepper
3 T olive oil

Recipe Directions for Danny's Mackerel Soup

  1. Sautee onions, leeks, carrots, potatoes, napa cabbage, and collard greens in olive oil. Bring water to a boil in a pot with the bouillon concentrate.

  2. Put vegetables in the pot with the boiling water and mackerel. Add garlic powder and black pepper. Add cellophane noodles. Boil a couple of minutes till the noodles soften. Add Accent if you like extra flavor.
