(Custard to go in whole-wheat crepes)

Recipe Ingredients for Custard

1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 tsp vanilla

Recipe Directions for Custard

  1. To make custard, heat 1 1/2 cups milk in medium saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Combine sugar and cornstarch; stir into milk as it is heating.

  3. Gradually stir in 2 egg yolks, cooking until mixture is thickened, stirring constantly.

  4. Remove saucepan from heat.

  5. Stir in vanilla. Cool. (If desired, custard can be made ahead and refrigerated.) Serve at room temperature.
