Recipe Ingredients for Custard - Made with Bird's Custard Powder

35 g custard powder
35 g granulated sugar
17 oz 2% Reduced Fat Milk

Recipe Directions for Custard - Made with Bird's Custard Powder

  1. Mix custard powder and granulated sugar together in a bowl.

  2. Use some of the milk from the pint to mix with custard and sugar into a smooth paste.

  3. Heat the rest of the milk either on the stove/hob or in the microwave (I prefer the microwave as it creates a smoother, less lumpy custard) for about 3 minutes or until milk is hot.

  4. Stir in custard/sugar paste and simmer (or microwave), stirring occasionally until custard becomes thick (approx. 6 minutes).

  5. Watch constantly as custard becomes thicker so as to prevent custard from boiling over.
