Recipe Ingredients for Curried Ground Beef

1 tbsp olive oil
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 small carrot, diced
1/2 kg extra-lean ground beef
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tbsp cumin
15 ounce (1 can) diced tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato paste, no salt added
1 cup frozen peas

Recipe Directions for Curried Ground Beef

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Cook onions, garlic and carrots until onions are translucent. Add curry powder and cumin and cook for 1 minute. Crumble in ground beef and cook over a medium-high heat until no longer pink.

  2. Add tomatoes and tomato paste and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in peas and cook for 5 more minutes. Serve over a bed of Basmati or whole grain rice.
