Quick and dirty vegetarian bean curry. Can be served either as a main dish or a side.

Recipe Ingredients for Curried bean stew

1 cup Beans, Kidney, Red, Mature Seeds, Canned
1 cup Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans, Bengal Gram), Mature Seeds, Canned
0.33 cup Split Peas, Green Organic
1 can Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
1 1/2 onion Yellow Onion
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
5 tsp Curry Powder

Recipe Directions for Curried bean stew

  1. Presoak split peas at least six hours before.

  2. Chop onions

  3. Saute in oil until translucent

  4. add curry powder and continue frying until fragrant

  5. add tomatoes and let simmer for about two minutes

  6. add peas and simmer for fifteen minutes

  7. add kidney and garbanzo beans and simmer for another five to ten minutes

  8. depending on personal taste, one can add chilli flakes, salt, mixed vegetables etc and simmer till flavours are mixed.

  9. Serve with rice or without
