Homemade croutons with whole wheat/flax bread and olive oil

Recipe Ingredients for Croutons - Homemade

20200 g Cracked Wheat
200 Molasses
200 c Water
66 c All Purpose Flour
200 c Water
200 Olive Oil
200 Yeast
200 c Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
200 c Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
200 Vital Wheat Gluten
200 Salt, Table
600 Flaxseed
3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Oregano, Ground

Recipe Directions for Croutons - Homemade

  1. Take 4-5 slices of whole grain bread and let sit out for a couple of hours, or overnight.

  2. Cut bread into desired cubes and put in bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine virgin olive oil, garlic, onion and Itailian herbs (I used oregano on cc because there was no itailian herb entry) Let sit a few minutes for the flavors to meld.

  4. Pour oil mix around sides of bread and imeidiatley toss until lightly covered. Don't pour oil directly on bread or it will all absorb into just a few pieces.

  5. Turn the coated cubes out on a baking sheet and bake at 300deg for 15-20 minutes. Until golden brown and crunchy.

  6. These will hold for over a week.
