Recipe Ingredients for crockpot mushroom pecan dressing

8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup chopped onion
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon dried basil, crumbled
12 cups bread
1 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup pecans

Recipe Directions for crockpot mushroom pecan dressing

  1. toast and cube bread

  2. toast pecans and chop

  3. Melt butter over medium-low heat in a heavy skillet.

  4. Add mushrooms, celery, and onion; sauté for 5 minutes, until vegetables are just tender. Remove from heat; stir in the pepper and basil.

  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine vegetable mixture with the bread cubes.

  6. Sprinkle with the chicken broth and toss gently.

  7. Pour mixture into crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

  8. Stir in toasted pecans just before serving.
