Recipe Ingredients for Crock Pot Lasagna

16 oz Ground Beef
1 cup, chopped Onions
2 cloves, raw Garlic
28 oz Diced Tomatoes In Tomato Juice
15 oz Tomato Products
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
1 serving Crushed Red Pepper
1 cup (not packed) Cottage Cheese, Lowfat, 2% Milkfat
1.5 cup Cheese Mozzarella Shredded Part Skim
8 pc Lasagna Noodles
0.25 cup Parmesan, Grated Cheese

Recipe Directions for Crock Pot Lasagna

  1. Brown beef, onion and garlic in a large skillet.

  2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Mix cottage cheese and 1 cup of mozzarella in a medium bowl.

  4. Put 1/3 of beef mixture in bottom of crock pot.

  5. Layer approx 3 noodles over top. You may have to break these to get them to cover.

  6. Add 1/2 of cheese mixture.

  7. Add 1/3 of beef mixture, another layer of noodles, 1/2 of cheese mixture and last 1/3 of beef mixture.

  8. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.

  9. When done, turn off heat and uncover.

  10. Mix remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella with 1/4 cup of parmesan, sprinkle over top of beef mixture and allow to melt. The lasagna will firm up and be easier to cut and serve (about 10 minutes).
