Recipe Ingredients for Crock pot granola

4 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup flax seed, milled
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup pecans
3/4 cup applesauce
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup splenda no calorie
2 tablespoons molasses
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Crock pot granola

  1. Lightly coat crock bowl with oil.

  2. Place all ingredients except dried fruit in crockpot and cook on low for 4+ hours. Vent the lid and stir about every half hour for the first three hours, then more often in the last hour or so to prevent burning. The more you stir, the smaller the pieces in the end.

  3. Add the dried fruit toward the end, about thirty minutes to an hour before the end (at about the four hour mark should do it).

  4. When granola has firm clumps and is browned adequately, remove and let cool completely in a cookie sheet or cake pan, then place in an airtight container.

  5. Keeps for several weeks in the refrigerator, and can be frozen.

  6. May cook for an hour on high at beginning, then turn to low, to speed cooking.

  7. Makes about 24-1/2 cup servings.
