A nice soup with a tiny bit of spice, and a large bit of warming power for the body.

Recipe Ingredients for Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup

4 chicken breast
30 oz black beans
30 oz stewed tomatoes
1 cup salsa
4 oz green chilies
15 oz tomato sauce

Recipe Directions for Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup

  1. Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup:

  2. Ingredients:

  3. 3 or 4 Frozen Chicken Breasts

  4. 2 15-oz. cans of black beans, undrained

  5. 2 15-oz. cans of Mexican stewed tomatoes

  6. 1 cup salsa

  7. 4-oz. can of chopped green chilies

  8. 14-16oz can of tomato sauce

  9. Spray the crock pot with a non-stick spray.

  10. Put the frozen chicken breasts at the bottom of the crock pot.

  11. Then just add the remaining ingredients by pouring them on top of the chicken.

  12. Cook on low for: 8-9 hours Cook on high for: 4-5 hours

  13. After the allotted cook time, take out the chicken breasts and shred them with a fork... they will shred easily, then put back in the crock and stir. You are now ready to serve!

  14. I like my soup a bit spicy, so I put hot salsa in it. If you don't like spicy foods, be sure you use mild salsa and mild green chilies.

  15. Serving suggestions... top with shredded cheese, a dallop of sour cream, some chopped green onion or a few slices of avacado. I like to eat mine with a few tortilla chips.
