Recipe Ingredients for Crock Pot Beef Stew

3 carrot (7-1/2") Carrots
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
14.5 oz Stewed Tomatoes, No Salt Added
4 oz Wine, Table, Red
18 oz Beef, Round, Bottom Round
0.5 cup White Flour, Unbleached
1 tsp VIGO HAM BASE

Recipe Directions for Crock Pot Beef Stew

  1. cut beef into cubes and dredge in flour. Fry in non stick pan sprayed with cooking spray until browed on all sides. set aside.

  2. slice carrots thinly and chop onions coarsely. mix with beef and place in crock pot.

  3. add wine, tomatoes, ham soup base and 1 c water to pan beef was cooked in. Bring to boil, scraping up browned bits. Add a dash of clove, pepper and oregano, if desired. Pour over meat and vegetables in crock pot.

  4. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours. Serve with rice, baked potato or noodles.
