Delicious Tofu lettuce wraps. Low Calorie and Low Carb.

Recipe Ingredients for Crispy Tofu Lettuce Wraps

16 oz Extra Firm Tofu
4 tbs Soy Sauce, Divided
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
3/4 c green onions, chopped
1 tbs Garlic, chopped
1 tbs Chopped Ginger
2 tbs Vinegar
2 tbs Vegetable Oil

Recipe Directions for Crispy Tofu Lettuce Wraps

  1. Preheat oven to 450F.

  2. Dry the tofu and cut into cubes. Toss the tofu in a bowl with 2 tablespoons soy sauce, salt and pepper.

  3. Spread tofu out on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes until golden and crisp.

  4. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute the garlic and ginger in olive oil for 3 minutes.

  5. Add tofu, chestnuts, scallions, vinegar, remaining soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar and water and heat 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

  6. Meanwhile, fry pine nuts and almonds in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden, about 4 to 5 minutes.

  7. Transfer tofu mixture to a bowl and stir in the nuts.

  8. Serve in lettuce wraps or over rice, with hoison sauce.

  9. Makes 8 Wraps
