This soup is wonderful with a light sandwich for lunch or a light dinner by itself. It tastes great with or without cream cheese added (which is calculated in the first version posted).

Recipe Ingredients for Creamy Tomato Soup (Version 2 w/o Cream Cheese)

1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoons reduced fat margarine
14 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
3/4 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Creamy Tomato Soup (Version 2 w/o Cream Cheese)

In a saucepan, saute the onion in the margarine until tender. Add the tomatoes, soup, milk, sugar, basil, paprika and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve it while it's hot!
