Recipe Ingredients for Creamy Tomato Soup

20 tomatoes, medium
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour, white
1/2 cup light cream
1/2 cup skim milk
10 oz V-8 juice, low sodium
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup cheddar cheese
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp pepper
2 tsp seasoning salt
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp celery salt

Recipe Directions for Creamy Tomato Soup

  1. skin and core tomatoes

  2. cut tomatoes

  3. run tomatoes through blender

  4. in a large pot add spices and V8 juice

  5. simmer for 15 minutes

  6. add soda and stir well,

  7. turn off heat

  8. In sauce pan mix butter and flour to melting point

  9. mix in cream & milk

  10. stir til thickens

  11. add cheese and stir til blended

  12. gently pour into slightly cooled tomatoe mixture, heat on low for 15 minutes.
