This recipe is an easy way to gt complex carbohydrates and protein at the same meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Creamy Quinoa Cereal

2 1/2 cups almond milk
1 pinch of sea salt
1 cup quinoa, rinsed
1 small apple, unpeeled, cored and diced
1/2 cup raisins
1 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for Creamy Quinoa Cereal

Bring milk and pinch of salt to a light boil. Stir in quinoa and diced apples. Reduce heat to low and simmer until quinoa is tender, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in raisins, maple syrup and cinnamon. Sprinkle with walnuts and top with extra milk if desired. Leftovers can be gently reheated with extra milk.
