Creamy middle-eastern spread made from chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) works great as a dip for fresh veggies or toasted pita bread. Modified from the Biggest Loser recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for Creamy Hummus

30 oz chickpeas, low-sodium, drained & rinsed
1/2 cup warm water
3 tbsp lime juice, fresh
1 tbsp tahini
3 tsp ground cumin
3 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp cilantro, chopped fresh
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Recipe Directions for Creamy Hummus

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Process until very smooth, about 4 minutes.

  2. If mixture gets too dry, add an extra 1-2 Tbsp of water. Transfer to a bowl and serve.

  3. Great with fresh veggies, toasted pita, or a condiment for a variety of other foods!
