Recipe Ingredients for Creamed Lemon Spinach

1 tsp. butter, unsalted
3/4 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 cup Hoods 2% Carb Countdown
13 ounce frozen chopped) spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
3/4 tsp. lemon zest
14 grams real bacon bits(2 TBsp. plus 2 tsp.)
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Creamed Lemon Spinach

  1. Melt butter ina heavy nonstick skillet over medium high heat.

  2. Saute onion and garlic about 6 minutes until tender.

  3. Add flour and cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently.

  4. Gradually whish in milk.

  5. Increase heat to high and whisk 2-3 minutes, or until mixture boils and begins to thicken.

  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in remaining ingredients, except cheese.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Cook until heated through.

  9. Serve sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
