Recipe Ingredients for Creamed Celery with Pecans

2 cup, diced Celery
1 tbsp Butter
0.06 cup Wheat Flour, Whole-grain
1 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
1/4 tsp Salt, Table
1/8 c pecans
1/4 cup Bread Crumbs

Recipe Directions for Creamed Celery with Pecans

  1. Chop Celery diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces.

  2. Preheat oven to 400F

  3. Grease 1 qt casserole dish.

  4. Boil celery until tender and drain.

  5. Melt butter over medium heat, stir in flour until smooth, add milk slowly to make cream sauce, stirring until thick and smooth.

  6. Add salt and well drained celery.

  7. Spoon into prepared casserole pan, top with pecans and bread crumbs.

  8. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes.
