This is asparagus in white sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Creamed asparagus light

12 oz. asparagus
1 cup skim milk
2 tbsp flour
1 cup water
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dill weed

Recipe Directions for Creamed asparagus light

  1. Chop asparagus in pieces. Bring water to a boil. Add asparagus and boil gently until the asparagus is tender, but still green. Stir 1/4 cup of the milk and the flour and salt together until flour is dissolved. Blend in the remaining milk until it becomes completely smooth.

  2. When asparagus is tender, stir the milk mixture into the asparagus. Bring to a boil and stir until the sauce becomes thickened (gravy consisency). Serve the creamed asparagus over whole grain toast. Good also to serve with hard boiled eggs and toast.
