Nutmeg and heavy cream add flavor to these breakfeast breads.

Recipe Ingredients for Cream Scones

2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup margarine
1 egg
1/4 cup skim milk
1/4 cup heavy cream

Recipe Directions for Cream Scones

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in margarine and mash in with spoon.

  3. Beat egg then add milk and cream. Add this mixture to dry ingredients.

  4. Knead dough on a floured surface. Flatten into 7" circle then cut into 10 triangular pieces. For better browning, brush each piece with egg and/or cream.

  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
