Recipe Ingredients for cream cheese pound cake

3/4 lb unsalted butter
8 ounces cream cheese
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract

Recipe Directions for cream cheese pound cake

  1. preheat oven to 325 F. butter and flour a 10 inch tube pan, then line the bottom with parchment paper.

  2. cream the butter and cream cheese in an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until smooth; add the sugar gradually and beat until fluffy.

  3. add the eggs, one at a time, beating well with each addition.

  4. add the flour and salt all at once, then add the buttermilk and vanilla and almond extracts; mix just to combine.

  5. pour the batter into the prepared tube pan; tap the pan on the counter to even out the batter.

  6. bake until a pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
