Baked acorn squash with tart cranberry and sausage/turkey stuffing

Recipe Ingredients for Cranberry Stuffed Acorn Squash

4 ounces stuffing
3/4 cup chicken broth
5 ounce ground sausage
5 ounce ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup cranberries, whole
1/2 cup applesauce
2 acorn squash, halved
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Cranberry Stuffed Acorn Squash

Cut 2 acorn squash in 1/2 and remove seeds and set aside. Add stuffing mix to mixing bowl and set aside. In skillet brown ground turkey and sausage. Add walnuts, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and stir. Chop 1 cup fresh cranberries and add to turkey/sausage. Continue to cook in skillet until cranberries soften. Mix applesauce and chicken broth and pour over sausage/turkey mix. Heat until hot. Pour mixture over stuffing and mix thoroughly. Fill each 1/2 of acorn squash with stuffing and heat in a 350 oven for about 40-50 minutes or until squash is soft.
